Richard has strong health safety and security credentials having held a range of leadership roles across positions in construction (Crossrail Rail Project), train operation (Cross Country Trains), building works (Morrison FS) and metro railways (London Underground). In recent years, Richard has focused on rail franchise and rolling stock bid work where he has developed a reputation for delivering high scoring bid plans around operational security/ regulatory approvals/ safety/ mobilisation/ governance/ human factor themes. He has undertaken Shipley style “Red Review” work and has been a part of winning teams across construction, rail franchise, building works and programme management sectors.

Richard holds Chartered status within the safety, engineering and environmental professions and works at both operational and strategic levels within complex organisations with high public visibility and significant safety & security exposures. Richard specialises in safety and operational security/ anti-terrorism risk reduction work, corporate governance and health & safety management systems. He has acted as a strategic advisor on safety to a range of industries including Network Rail, MTR/ KCRC, Laing O’ Rourke, Crossrail, Department of Social & Family Affairs (Eire), London Underground, First Wessex, CH2MHILL and Hitachi Rail Europe.
