Matthew Crosse BSc CEng MIET
Matthew has directed and managed major projects and successful bids and government procurements for a wide range of complex rail schemes, including light rail, commuter and high speed. He is familiar with virtually all rail delivery and funding models, having advised or led schemes from conception through to delivery.
Through his 35 year career he has worked on over 30 capital projects, EPC contracts, concessions or franchises, for both public and private sectors, ranging from £100m to over £5bn. A Chartered Engineer, used to leading joint ventures, large and small teams, he has worked as a consultant, senior interim and in corporate roles with the best global rail systems companies, constructors and operators. He has a very broad technical knowledge including railway vehicles (where his career started), power, signalling, infrastructure and operations and maintenance. He has strong presentational and communications skills, is commercially driven, and is a capable advocate and negotiator, used to getting results from varied and demanding stakeholders.
He has also advised international banks, operators and Government Agencies, including the Department for Transport. As an acknowledged expert in bidding and in developing and structuring bankable deals, Matthew has led training sessions and seminars in Europe, Americas and China.
